Chase H. Harrison is Senior Preceptor in the Department of Government at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and also serves as the Associate Director of the Program on Survey Research at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science.  He teaches courses in survey methodology at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and advises students and other researchers at Harvard on survey design, sampling, and survey administration.

Chase joined the Department of Government in 2006.  Between 2009 and 2013, he served as Principal Survey Methodologist and Director of Research Computing at the Harvard Business School.  He has also worked at the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research and the Center for Survey Research and Analysis at the University of Connecticut.  He is an expert in survey research methodology and public opinion polling, and has more than 25 years’ experience designing and analyzing surveys. He has served on numerous committees for the American Association for Public Opinion Research. He received his B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy from St. John’s College, and his M.A. in Political Science, Concentration in Survey Methods, and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
