Privacy, Confidentiality, and Data Security web site

This site is maintained by the American Statistical Association's Committee on Privacy and Confidentiality.  It provides guidelines and standards for protecting the privacy and confidentality of survey respondents and other sources throughout the process of data distribution and analysis.

Faculty of Arts and Sciences Research Conduct and Administration - Use of Human Subjects in Research

Explains research procedures and policies.  Provides acceptable research policies concerning use of human subjects in research, approval procedures, and gives a list of the affiliates of the program.

Guidelines for scientific research accepted by the Faculty of Medicine.  Intended as guidelines, rather than rules.

Committee on Human Studies

CHS is a combination of the Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dentistry.  They regulate and provide guidelines and rules on the use of human subjects in scientific studies and research.  They are guided by the principles developed by the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research and their report entitled, Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research.

Human Subjects Committee

Offers forms, policies and procedures, and training requirement information for using a human subject for research.  Focuses on the Public Health side of research. Additional internal resources available to those at the school of Public Health.

Policies for using a human subject for research at Harvard.  Provides answers to frequently asked questions and external resources upon which Harvard's policies are based.
